Andy Wu

Builder. Researcher. Explorer.

Hi, I’m Andy. I’m a software engineer by trade and a creator and builder. I grew up in San José, Costa Rica. At 18 I moved to the US to study Health Sciences at Cornell University. I switched majors sophomore year from Health to Data Science and haven’t looked back since.

I’ve shipped code at Genentech, Amazon, Microsoft, and Okta. I’ve done research and published papers in a lab. I’ve launched startups that didn’t work and learned more from those than from anything that did.

I created Helican Labs with the intention to engineer smart and classy solutions to everyday problems. This is where I build the things I can’t stop thinking about: quiet experiments, real products, and problems worth solving. So, if you’re interested in the build process, follow along.

I’m always open to opportunities and collaborations. You can reach me at andy@helicanlabs.com
